ASSIGNMENT-
  • Write 2-3 Paragraphs (10-15 sentences) about what you think and feel after seeing this
    • Use specific examples (this is a big part of the grade)
    • Run Spellcheck and make sure you have read what you wrote.
    • Do not use IM/Text Speak
  • Email it to Mrs. Ferris either as an attachment or in an email

Thursday, September 30th

Media Violence Play Acting

Based on the notes on Media Violence (4 effects) you are now going to create a skit for elementary students.

  • Choose 2 out of the 4 effects
  • Write a detailed script explaining the effect
    • Make sure the script is detailed enough for anyone to be able to get up and perform it
    • Keep it entertaining
    • Scripts are written using Times New Roman, 14pt font in ALL CAPS
    • Each script must have a title
    • Total it should be 3-5 minutes in length (per script), the majority of this should be talking--Not sure how long that is? Go to Google, search for stop watch, read the script and see.
      • AND NOT, you may not have your characters play video games for 3 minutes without talking
  • This is an individual assignment
  • Print both scripts when you are done and turn them in

Example:

Setting: Basement in a middle class neighbor hood with a couch and a tv. two boys are present wearing jeans and hoodies.

Boy 1: What do you want to do today?

Boy 2: I don’t know, what do you want to do?

    • In the Hip Hop Quote Document, add your reaction to the activity and links to 2 Hip Hop songs that mean something to you (1 good and 1 you do not like).
